June 10, 2020Most appliances that are found in the kitchens of most homes are made of stainless steel. However, to maintain a clean and neat look within the home, it is important that some extra effort is put into cleaning the appliances.
These appliances look good but at times a small touch may leave things like fingerprints among others. This does not mean that you say goodbye to any steel appliances. As stated earlier, these appliances look good and with some tips on how to best clean them, you will be in a better position to enjoy the service that they give you.
First, before we go into the tips. Always stay away from detergents that can corrode the surfaces of your appliances. Most importantly avoid steel wool as this can damage the look on the surface of your appliances. You will note that most manufacturers attach a cleaning manual that can help you take care of the cleaning tasks in the best way possible.
Warm water, mild detergent, and cloth
Warm some water and mix with a detergent. Then using a cloth wipe the surface of the appliance let’s say the fridge. Wipe it again the second time and then use a dry towel to dry. This will ensure that any water spots have been cleared hence leaving the appliance sparkling clean.
Glass cleaner
Glass cleaners are renowned when it comes to cleaning steel appliances. If you have recently cleaned your appliance with some water and some thumbprints are still visible, the best thing to do is to spray the glass cleaner and wipe with a cloth. If you have a large piece of cotton wool or soft kitchen towels the better.
Baking Soda
Some appliances will have stains of oil or grease stuck on them and this won’t go away with just using water. Here is where baking soda comes into play. Take a bowl of warm water and add baking soda until you form a paste. Then use the paste on the surface by gently rubbing it in. Then take a clean wet cloth and wipe the surfaces. Thereafter you can use a dry towel to dry the surface.
Vinegar and Olive Oil
You might be wondering why you should use food ingredients as cleaning solutions. Well, vinegar and olive oil are known to work magic when used to clean steel appliances. All you need to do is spray some vinegar onto the surface of the appliance, then dump a cloth into the olive oil and rub towards the direction of the grease or oil. Once you are done, take a dry cloth wipe any remaining residues.
Flour
This has proven to leave stainless steel appliances sparkling. This is mostly done on surfaces that have already been cleaned let’s say a sink. You can always use a soft cloth and use a circular motion to ensure that the surface retains a shine that will leave your surfaces sparkling at all times.
With these tips, you no longer have to regret buying steel appliances. You can enjoy that sparkling look at all times and get the satisfaction you need from your appliances.
